Surge Your Creativity, Hone Your Focus & Get Inspired in Your Work Space

Whatever your challenges, hidden fears, or deep-rooted issues might be, I will clearly see them manifested in your space. It’s my job. I’ve been a holistic Feng Shui consultant for eighteen years, consulted on hundreds of spaces and have never seen a space where this didn’t hold true. I am also the owner of The Holistic Home Company, so I often have my hands in cement and raw crystals and thrive in an environment that can be sloppy, disorganized and supremely creative. Both of these vocations have helped me hone my skills in helping others construct a creative environment that is mindful, efficient, inspiring and allows the best to unfold.

The Holistic Home Company Celebrates Five Years in Business!

I started The Holistic Home Company five years ago this month as a way of making all natural beauty and wellness products with my then eight year old daughter. Back then, the products connected the Mind, Body, Spirit and Space and today, that philosophy is still present in everything we do. The Mind portion cover the psychology and subconscious symbolism of our products. Every product is encouraged to be used with a positive intention – whether that is visualizing you are releasing the negative while using our Good Juju Body Wash, or that you are elevating the energy of your dinner table with our Crystal Napkin Rings.

Six Spots To Spring Clean That Will Change Your Life

It’s Spring! By now you’ve all heard about the importance of dovetailing the energies of the season with tasks at home in order to maximize productivity and synch with the natural rhythms of the world around you. (If you haven’t, here is a quick breakdown: Winter is a time for stillness and reflection, so engage in solo chores and activities. Fall is a time for harvesting, that means planning out projects. Summer is a time for more rigorous activity. That means get motivated for physical action). By synching with the seasons, you can accomplish more and feel like the Universe is giving you a boost. Life seems easier. You’ll be in your groove. With the bulbs on the ground bursting through and tantalizing gentle breezes, the promise of renewal is all around. This makes it an ideal time to engage in fresh starts in mind, body, spirit and space. This season, consider spring cleaning areas or items you don’t normally tackle in order to give yourself a fresh perspective.

The Holistic Home: Feng Shui for Mind, Body, Spirit, Space Wins The Gold!

Last week I was honored to receive the GOLD award for The Holistic Home: Feng Shui for Mind, Body, Spirit, Space from the Independent Publishers Book Awards. This book took ten years to write and changed and evolved as much as I did through out the writing process. It went through three different titles, over forty rejections and one literary agent that came and went. I ended up getting a book deal on my own. Needless to say, it was a lot of hard work, perseverance and an unwavering belief that this book would get published. One of the most meaningful moments of my life was

Twenty Tips to Transform Your Life For Spring

I love Spring! Out of all the seasons, this is the one cycle that holds the most energy to help you get motivated for a fresh start, undergo a deep clean or start a new beginning. Humankind vibrates in tandem with the cyclical energies of the Universe. Cycles are all around us, giving subconscious information and guidance – from sun up to sun down, birth to death, planetary cycles, a women’s inner fertility cycle – the key is to dovetail mindful actions into your life that are syncopated to the Universal forces around you. What does that mean? Basically, with Spring here, now is the time to take action to deep clean and start fresh. You’ll have the forces of the planets energy to boost you. The Holistic Home School of Feng Shui is Coming!

For years I’ve been asked if I taught certification classes in the style of Feng Shui that I created. Although I teach Feng Shui and Architecture continuing education credited courses at Pratt for established architects, I don’t have my own Feng Shui certification program. For those that contacted me because they were interested in becoming a Feng Shui consultant, I’ve always said no and tried to recommend them to other schools of Feng Shui that had seminars in their area. Some would reply that they they were only interested in the holistic feng shui that I write about in my book. Years and years passed with me giving the same automatic reply until finally – after emailing three people in a row in one day that “no, I don’t have my own school…” I had an aha moment. Why not? Why shouldn’t I be the one to teach others about this?

The James Hotel Chicago. Holistically Getting It Right

A few days ago, some in-store appearances to promote my Holistic Home Company beauty, wellness and home products, as well as doing some book signings for both The Holistic Home and The Holistic Dog books brought me to Chicago. While there I stayed at The James Hotel and could not have been happier. With my next book in the pipeline, The Holistic Hotel: Lodging for Mind, Body, Spirit Space, my senses are particularly heightened concerning every aspect of the boutique hotel experience. In writing this next book – as per the format from my previous books, my Pratt lectures for architects and the basis for my company philosophy – I examine the mind, body, spirit and space aspects, addressing the mighty impact of the interconnectedness of it all. Here is how The James hits all the marks with exceptional verve, skill and grace:
