Six Spots To Spring Clean That Will Change Your Life

It’s Spring! By now you’ve all heard about the importance of dovetailing the energies of the season with tasks at home in order to maximize productivity and synch with the natural rhythms of the world around you. (If you haven’t, here is a quick breakdown: Winter is a time for stillness and reflection, so engage in solo chores and activities. Fall is a time for harvesting, that means planning out projects. Summer is a time for more rigorous activity. That means get motivated for physical action). By synching with the seasons, you can accomplish more and feel like the Universe is giving you a boost. Life seems easier. You’ll be in your groove. With the bulbs on the ground bursting through and tantalizing gentle breezes, the promise of renewal is all around. This makes it an ideal time to engage in fresh starts in mind, body, spirit and space. This season, consider spring cleaning areas or items you don’t normally tackle in order to give yourself a fresh perspective.

Here are six spots to deep clean that will have a major impact on your levels of efficiency and your feelings of productivity:

  1. Your pocket book. (Or backpack). The bag you haul around on a daily basis can easily become a collection pit for junk. Clean it and you’ll immediately feel lighter, freer and more organized.
  2.  Nightstands. This bedside anchor easily gathers lots of items over the years that you don’t need/use/want. Clean it out and you’ll sleep better.
  3. Car Compartments. You have more odds and ends here then you realize. Receipts, loose change, napkins, you name it. Keep your registration, insurance card, car manual and a small first aid kit and thats it.
  4. Condiment shelves in the refrigerator. Your mustard is caked up, the ketchup is watery, the pickles look like a science experiment. And while you’re at it, get rid of all the packets of soy sauce and mayo.
  5. Medicine cabinet. Be honest with yourself. You haven’t used that hair gel thats been sitting there for years and your allergy meds have expired. The hotel shampoos were brought in with good intentions but you’ll never use them. Clean out, edit and you’ll feel healthier.
  6. Underwear Drawer. If it has holes, stains or looks very worn, toss them. Then Marie Kondo your remaining panties in a neat row. You’ll feel sexier.

Enjoy Spring. It’s a season that seems to only last a couple hours so get cleaning!

xo,

Laura
