When my daughter turned seven, all she wanted was her room redecorated. She grew out of pink and wanted a beach theme with white walls and “lots of shades of blues and turquoise”. My husband and I tackled the whole project in one weekend, sending her to relatives so we could get to work and give her an HGTV “big reveal moment” when she returned.
