The Holistic Home Company Goes Into Retail!

photo_homepageIt’s been a little over a year since I launched The Holistic Home Company, selling luxury goods online for the mind, body, spirit, space and I finally felt comfortable to venture into wholesale. Uncommon Goods picked up two of my gift sets, one is the Deluxe Scrub Set and the other is the Aromatherapy Spray Gift set. The Aromatherapy Spray Gift Set has become a huge hit. I’ve had to scale up my business to keep up with the orders, hire new employees, get more space for materials and luckily, the business has adjusted well with the new pace. Selling online has been great but I felt The Holistic Home Company was ready to expand to brick and mortar spaces and it could not be just any place. It had to be special. It had to be a place where the energy of the space matched the energy of my products.  I set the intention, put it out there to the Universe, and it happened.

One afternoon while on vacation this summer in Colorado, my husband and daughter wanted to drive around and visit some small towns. We had no map or agenda, just a curiosity for whatever would unfold. We stopped in the town of Carbondale and while walking the historic streets, my husband spotted a chalkboard sidewalk sign heralding green juices with an arrow pointing towards a nondescript street we maybe wouldn’t have ventured down. Revealing itself at the bottom of North Third street was the most delightful surprise of our whole trip: True Nature Healing Arts. home-hero-brayered-1My Feng Shui senses were tingling with joy with every square foot of this extremely well cultivated, soulfully made, soothing spiritual haven. Every where you turned there were details that left me in awe as I wandered through the sections that ranged from raw juice bar to book shop to yoga studio and treatment rooms. When I couldn’t find my husband, he was contently sipping a dandelion Chai outside at one of the beautiful Indonesian tables. When I didn’t see my nine year old for a while, I found her engrossed in coloring mandalas in a specially made spot for kids. In all my years of Feng Shui’ing hundreds of spaces, teaching this ancient art and consulting to help people bring all components together in their space, it is very, very rare that I find a place that exemplifies every aspect in such an incredible, well thought out and balanced way. True Nature Healing Arts is that place. You feel it when you enter. It speaks to your soul. The products that are sold there are all exceptional in the highest quality of energy. The people who work there are also vibrating at a higher level. To have my products in there is a dream come true.

IMG_1907-1Back in Brooklyn, I stopped into a well curated,  all natural beauty and gift shop on State and Bond called at wilderness and got to talking with the down-to-earth owner, Lori. As luck would have it, she was looking for products like mine and, like me,  even put it out there to the Universe to find the right company. We were both overjoyed with the serendipity of it all and felt grateful to be united. Lori emanates a resounding goodness and pure integrity about her, and, unsurprisingly, so do all the products she has chosen for her shop. When spaces achieve, what I call “Holistic Design Excellence” (I go over this in the last chapter of my upcoming book, The Holistic Home: Feng Shui Your Mind, Body, Spirit, Space (January 2016) the people who dwell or shop in these spaces will inevitably feel this difference too. It’s not just  beautiful aesthetics or only carrying luxury products – its the combination of beauty, design, details, atmosphere, organization, efficiency, quality of chi, mindfulness, intention and the energy behind the people who work there. When it all comes together, it can be quite powerful.

It is an honor to have The Holistic Home products in these two special places. If you are in Carbondale or Brooklyn, you must check them out.
